At the service I went to last week, the minister spoke about how 'failure' is like a knife... it can cut you or serve you depending on how you chose to grip it. I think the same thing can be said for a lot of other concepts as well: gender and sex (as Ms. "Dylan" has so eloquently illustrated) included.

You chose how you grip it and it cuts both ways.
